About
Local builders who took the guesswork out of choosing.
We spent years watching good projects get complicated by the handoff between designers, suppliers and contractors. So we put all three in one place.

Two sides of the same job.
Home by Tru Grit is a residential construction company with a design center attached — and that order matters. We are builders first. The showroom exists because homeowners kept asking us the same question: how am I supposed to pick all of this?
Our crews frame, tile, hang cabinets and trim out houses across Monmouth County every week. Our designers sit with those same homeowners and narrow eight thousand possible finishes down to the handful that will actually work in their rooms and their budget.
It is not a complicated idea. It is just rare to find both under one roof, run by people who live ten minutes from your house.
How we work
Four things we hold ourselves to
No slogans. These are the standards we actually measure the team against.
Show up
On the day we said, at the time we said. Most of this business is just doing that consistently.
Say the hard part early
If a wall cannot come out, or the budget does not match the plan, you hear it in week one — not week nine.
Finish properly
The last five percent of a job is where reputations are made. We stay until the punch list is empty.
Treat the house like ours
Protection down, dust contained, driveway clean. Your neighbors should not know we were there.
Where we work
Rooted in Belford.
Our design studio sits in Belford, and most of what we build is a short drive from it — Middletown, Red Bank, Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver and the towns around them. Working close to home means faster site visits, subs who show up, and a company that has to stand behind its work at the grocery store.
